Farewell Dear Al!

•January 18, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Alvelyn first joined us as an intern back in Oct after graduating from La-Salle school of fine arts. Over the last three months, she has done a number of test shoots and accompanied me on a number of shoots. Sadly, the internship period is over, and we have both mutually decided that it’s best she pursues her own interest. We would like to thank her for her stay with us. It’s been interesting working with her and I am sure she will find success in what she chooses to pursue next. Her passion in photography is obvious. =)

All the Best Yi Xin!

Yi Xin joined us as a photographer about a year back and has since developed into a fine wedding photographer. Earlier last month, she explained to me about her shift in priorities and how she would like to spend more time with her family and church. As such she has decided to pursue her own photography interest through her own photography studio to allow her more time and flexibility. We are sad to see her leave but also happy that she is continuing her journey. We are very thankful for her contribution for the past year she has been with us and would continue to support her in anyway we can. =) I am pretty sure she will find joy in what she does.

For all couples who have signed up with Yi Xin, Yi Xin will be following through the assignments and we will continue to support her with all other administrative needs.

I am currently in Paris chilling out (quite literally). I have just completed my winter shoot for a couple from Singapore. I have been pretty tied up of late and I wished I could have spend more time blogging. Anyhows… its a peaceful quiet morning here and I think its a brilliant time to share some thoughts and happenings!

Its been quite a ride in 2009 and I can’t believe it’s 2010 already. Actually, we are almost halfway through January!

First of all, we must apologise for the lack of entries on this blog. We have spent considerably more time on Facebook (www.facebook.com/lightedpixels). It’s been really easy to communicate with all of you on Facebook. However, for nostalgia and the fact that this blog serves as a better platform for conveying thoughts, we will step up our effort and update more regularly. =)

Over the past few weeks, months, we have been quite involved in a number of projects and plans. The studio in wessex has just about completed its interior work. We now have a spanking new gallery and an outdoor lounge area complete with lamps, benches, fans and music from the crickets. =) We have also been working on not one but two expansion projects and when we can, we will definately share these news with you guys!

We have been recruiting talents quite recently to join our team and later this month, we will be welcoming another photographer to our team. Working in a team has its advantages. For one, we get much better support when we have fellow photographers to rely on. It’s also alot more fun. I can’t wait to introduce this person to you. We should be making an official announcement sometime next week.

We have also started on a rebranding process and it should be ready pretty soon! Along with that are new sample albums, a new website among many others.

Meanwhile, thanks for being here with us. We look forward to announcing the details soon!  ~ Kelvin

Eileen and Yew Hong ~ Kelvin

•December 16, 2009 • 4 Comments

Eileen and Yew Hong have been one of our greatest supports and such great friends. I first got to know Eileen at a wedding, where she helped her friend, Liyi, to bake her wedding cake. That was about 2 years back and I was impress with the cake she had done up. Later on, I shot another of her close friends wedding, where she was a bridesmaid. Through her, I got to know Yew Hong and I soon discovered he was from ACJC too and we are of the same age! Somehow, we never did meet in college but hey that’s how life is sometimes. Everything happens for a reason. =)

Recently, Yew Hong proposed and I was as happy for them as I would for a close friend. They have dated for a while now and given how supportive and loving they are of each other, I am really happy to be a part of it all.

Here are some of the images from our pre-wed shoot to share.

Eileen’s lovely macaroons, which are awesome! Her shop, Artisan Sweets, is at Holland Grove road.

Eileen’s amazing Cheongsum, done by her aunt! If I had an aunt like her, Beth will be wearing Cheongsum everyday.

Caroline & Jeremy ~ Kelvin

I have had the opportunity to be a part of Caroline and Jeremy’s great relationship. The couple’s been dating for more than 10 years and having shot their pre-wedding in Kyoto and having spent days together, I have come to be really drawn to the both of them. Jeremy is a great barrel of laugh. He says the darnest things but still you can’t help but reach out and pat him cos he’s just lovable that way. Har… The couple’s endless banters kept us laughing close to tears on many occasions.

It’s really hard to find someone as young and talented as Caroline. She’s a designer with Silhouette The Atelier. They design gowns and we have had the privilege of working with them. When I first met her, I remember her large beautiful eyes and her very lively and pleasant disposition. It’s not hard to understand why she is so popular with her couples.

Here’s a preview of the images from her wedding day.

Caroline and her eager bridesmaids looking on as TG does his magic. =)

Caroline’s bridesmaid Fanny just about made it into her dress. Jeremy had a little comment on her name too. Ha

Meanwhile Jeremy is still trying to beat his pal on ps3… captured by Alvelyn.

Her very beautiful gown, which Caroline designed.

The boys practicing their “first kiss” =)

Kyra and Beth were also invited to the wedding and Kyra was super excited to see Caroline march in with her second gown.

The toasting session… the little one had his milk bottle instead!

Cheers mate!

More to come!
